Applications are now open for Berlinale Talents 2020. This is your chance to join the world’s top 250 emerging filmmakers for a transformative week of talks, screenings, workshops and networking from February 22-27, 2020. Boost your career with invaluable creative input from the leading lights of the industry and forge lasting contacts with peers from all over the world.
Who Can Apply
Actors – Cinematographers – Directors – Distributors – Editors – Film critics – Producers – Production designers – Sales agents – Screenwriters – Score composers – Sound designers.
Berlinale Talents is aimed at filmmakers and series creators in the early stages of their careers who have made two or more shorts, a feature film or a high-quality series that have screened internationally or won awards.

Over 40 talks and screenings offer insights into the brightest creative minds in the industry. Recent guests have included actors Charlotte Rampling and Willem Dafoe, artists Christo and Olafur Eliasson, director Tom Tykwer, cinematographer Agnès Godard, and composer Ryūichi Sakamoto. Talks have covered subjects ranging from miniature prop making and foley for docs to interactive web series.

Want to develop and present your latest project? Apply for the Doc Station, Script Station or Short Form Station to receive individual and group mentoring, finesse your material and then present it to industry players. Producers can submit their advanced feature-length projects to the Talent Project Market to find potential co-producers and financers, and for a chance to pitch and win prizes at the Berlinale Co-Production Market. Our Studios are dedicated to specific disciplines – acting, cinematography, editing, production design, sound, and distribution. Small group settings offer participants the chance to learn from experts and peers through case studies and hands-on exercises. Find out more.
